We’re looking for compassionate, committed and resilient Support Workers who share our values and want to make a genuine difference.

Our young people may have experienced trauma, disrupted relationships, exploitation or significant challenges with their emotional and behavioural needs. Your role is to provide stability, understanding and clear, consistent boundaries while supporting their individual needs.

No two days will be the same, but every day will be an opportunity to make a difference.

Provide individualised support that promotes safety, emotional wellbeing and positive outcomes.
Support young people experiencing emotional distress or crisis using trauma-informed approaches and appropriate de-escalation strategies.
Encourage independence and the development of practical life skills, including cooking, budgeting, personal routines and community participation.
Support engagement in education, training, recreational activities and positive experiences.
Promote healthy relationships, positive communication and appropriate boundaries.
Recognise safeguarding concerns and respond in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers and other professionals.
Maintain accurate records, support plans and relevant documentation.
Contribute to a positive team culture through effective communication, reflective practice and professional accountability.

Does the job role include personal care?: Yes

Working Patterns:

Our Support Workers work 12-hour shifts on a 4-on, 4-off rotation, which includes day shifts, night shifts and sleep-in duties.

All applicants must be available to work a minimum of 15 shifts per month, including weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and Christmas, in line with the needs of the service.

Essential details:

This is a specialist role supporting children and young people with complex and highly complex needs, some of whom may experience significant emotional distress, periods of crisis and behaviours that challenge.

The role can be demanding and requires individuals who are emotionally resilient, confident in managing risk and able to remain calm, professional and consistent in high-pressure environments.

Safeguarding, professional boundaries and trauma-informed practice are central to everything we do. Our teams must be confident in responding to incidents involving elevated levels of risk while maintaining the safety, dignity and wellbeing of the children and young people they support.

This is a physically demanding role that can involve periods of high physical activity. Team members must be able to safely undertake the essential physical requirements of the role, with reasonable adjustments considered where appropriate, to ensure their own safety and that of the children, young people and colleagues they work alongside.

At Cariad, you'll be part of a supportive and experienced team, where working together, sharing knowledge and looking after one another are central to how we work. We recognise the demands of specialist support and are committed to investing in our people through exceptional levels of specialist training, ongoing professional development and opportunities for career progression. We want every member of our team to feel valued, supported and confident in their role, with the knowledge, skills and opportunities to continue growing professionally.
