Job description –

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and compassionate live-in care worker to work alongside and enable a 57 year old lady with Alzheimer’s disease to remain living in her own home. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to promote independence within service user ability. This position would ideally suit an experienced live-in female care worker due to all aspects of personal care being required and at the request of the family. Knowledge and experience with Alzheimer’s Disease would be preferable.

This position will be on a rolling rota so ideal candidate will need to be available to work over all seven days. A minimum of three consecutive days a week will be required within the rolling rota. A two-hour break will be provided within each 24-hour period.

Tasks required but not exhausted to –

* Initiate, prompt and support with all aspects of personal care and daily living including toileting.

* Initiate, prompt and support with eating and drinking. Meal preparation will be required.

* Support with safe handling of medication as directed by professional prescriber.

* Undertake household duties such as laundry, light cleaning tasks, shopping.

* Walking and meeting nutritional needs of family dog.

* supporting with medical and personal appointments as required.

* Encouraging and supporting service to attend weekly fitness club in the community.

* Motivating, encouraging and supporting with social activities as appropriate such as cinema, walks, local dementia disco.

Post is subject to –
