The DOVE Project are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and flexible individual to lead and support a team of support workers.

We are a leading and innovative organisation offering a range of personalised outcome based care and support packages throughout Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall.

We are currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to join our team to support people in a 3 bed shared house in Plymouth.

You will be working alone and as part of a team supporting people with various needs, such as Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Acquired Brain Injury and Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

£12.94 per hour

(Sleep in nights are paid at a rate of £70.47)

40 hours per week – This will include weekend, evening and overnight shifts.

Additional hours are also available to cover annual leave, training and sickness as required.

You will have experience in supporting and leading a team to provide a person-centred approach to supporting people with their day-to-day living in order to provide a caring, safe and effective service that is responsive to the needs of the people we support. This will include providing support with household tasks, meal planning and preparation, maintaining relationships with their family and friends and with accessing the community.

Being a driver is preferred but not essential. If you are a driver, you must have a full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and have business insurance in place.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To supervise and lead a team of support workers to enable our service users to lead as fulfilling and satisfying a life as they possibly can.

To act as a role model for staff, so that they are encouraged to understand the people you are support.

To be actively engaged with service users and staff, continuously seeking opportunities for improvements to service users lifestyles and staffs skills and commitment to achieve this.

To participate in the day-to-day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.

To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and other whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.

To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.

To work as part of a team to provide high quality care.

The Successful Candidate for the role will have

NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is essential.

Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
