The vacancy is with the Exeter South Community Health & Social Care Team. This team covers Pinhoe Surgery, Topsham Surgery, Ide Lane Surgery, and the Westbank Practice.
The Occupational therapist within the community health and social care team works with people from aged 18 to end of life, we work with individuals with physical, psychological and cognitive difficulties.

Occupational Therapy is a well-respected part of the MDT covering South and West Exeter. The team includes a team manager, social workers, occupational therapists, social care assessors, and a co-ordinator.

There are close links with our health colleagues in the community rehab team and urgent care and response. You will be offered specialist clinical supervision, in addition to operational management.
The role requires an experienced OT confident in their own assessment skills, able to work both independently and as part of a team.

You will use your skills and knowledge around specialist equipment, moving and handling, complex housing adaptations and the use of the DFG.

The Occupational Therapist may be required to assess an individual’s care needs, and commission an appropriate package of care.
We focus on strengths, not just of the individual but also their carer and networks to enable people to retain/regain independence and ensure they can do what it is they need to, want to or have to do throughout the day as independently as possible.
