I am a young transgendered woman who is significantly socially isolated, and I am looking to employ a companion to facilitate me getting out into the community. I am a gifted musician, play the electric guitar and I write and record my own music. I like anime, certain social influencers and occasionally eating out. I am looking for someone who can relate to my interests and has an understanding of body dysmorphia and alexithymia.

The Role

  • The development of a companion relationship to facilitate socialisation at home and in the community.
  • To facilitate the development of meaningful friendships with other peers.
  • To facilitate trips out eg guitar shop, meals out.
  • Drop off and pick up from activities such as Youth club.
  • Occasional pick up and drop off from college.
  • Occasionally prepare some simple meals.
  • To maintain clear and accurate records as determined by the employer including timesheets and financial records and agree and sign the timesheets.
  • To attend relevant training sessions.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the employer.
  • To maintain and uphold the strictest confidentiality even after employment has ceased.

Hours: 4 hrs/week flexible

Rate: £11.44/hr

Person Specification

  • Previous PA/caring/companionship roles desirable
  • Caring and understanding and sympathetic to body dysmorphia, and Alexithymia
  • Be interested in my interests which include: music and guitars, anime, some youtubers, eating out.
  • Having own car would be an advantage.
  • To have a patient and caring attitude
  • To be willing to learn
  • To be reliable and punctual
  • To be organised and have good timekeeping.
