Introduction

I am seeking a reliable and friendly Personal Assistant to assist me with my care needs and my daily life. I am a man in his 30’s living with a neuromuscular condition and need support with personal and health care. The role would suit someone keen to learn new skills and who is looking for a career in health or social care.

You will be part of a developing care team working in my family home. In this role you will help to create a positive atmosphere to assist and support my autonomy. You will be assisting with all aspects of my daily life including my medical needs and so the role carries responsibilities. This position also includes supporting me on trips out locally and also on holidays in the UK. It is essential that you have a full driving licence and are willing to drive a wheelchair adapted vehicle.

It is helpful if you are familiar with driving in Plymouth. Great support workers can offer me the independence I want and can enable me to access new opportunities.

There is also additional training provided by outside organisations. If you enjoy music, theatre and films and can help me follow my interests I would like to hear from you. Duties

Personal and medical care. The role involves the use of Bi Pap and cough assist. Experience in using ceiling track hoist, giving medication and delivering personal care is required. Bespoke training modules and shadow shifts are offered to all new team members to help you settle into the role. There is also additional training provided by outside organisations.
