Support Worker

About Me

I am a 25-year-old man with Cerebral Palsy wishing to recruit an enabler to join an existing support team.

I am a fun-loving active individual, who uses a wheelchair full time.

I intend to directly employ someone to help with my support needs, Circle Case Management are helping me to do this.

I am currently living at home with my family and plan to move into an independent setting when the opportunity arises.

The Role

As an enabler, you will provide a supportive, energetic approach to help me with all aspects of my life including assistance with meal preparation, eating and personal care.

This will include help with daily living skills and use of communication aids. I need support also with my emotional and behavioural needs.

I would like to access Exeter and surrounding areas and but most importantly have company and support.

The role will be for:

• 2x evenings weekly 17.30-21.30, these will be Wed and Thurs
• Friday evenings 17.30 -21.30 for 3 out of 4 Fridays
• Friday 09.30-17.30- Maternity Cover
  Due to the changing dynamic of the team more hours are regularly available.

Additional hours will be available to cover annual leave, sickness etc.

About You

I am looking for someone who is kind, caring and easy going. You will need to have a good sense of humour and have similar interests to mine. It would also be good if you are proactive in planning ahead for activities/days out and helping me to access local community interests.

To be considered, you’ll need:

– A full, clean driving licence- essential
-25 years old for vehicle insurance
– Great communication skills
– A positive attitude.
– To fit in with my family dynamic.

Ideally, you’ll have previous experience as an enabler/ support worker, but this isn’t essential.

Other people may call this role Personal Assistant or Care Worker.

Contract

This is a part time permanent contract 6 hours per week- this may be negotiable.

Shifts

2x evenings weekly 17.30-21.30, these will be Wed and Thurs
Friday evenings 17.30 -21.30 for 3 out of 4 Fridays
Friday 09.30-17.30- Maternity Cover

Additional hours available for holiday support.

Hourly rates are as follows:

Weekday support: £15.50 per hour
Weekend Day support: £17.00 per hour
