REPORTS TO
Team Leader
OVERVIEW
The Shift Leader is a key role within RMBI Care Company’s Home Management Team Structure, providing carers with the direction, leadership and support they need to ensure residents receive personalised care that meets their individual needs. This means managing a small team of care staff; motivating them to provide exceptional person-centered care and ensuring they have regular one to ones, appraisals and training.
As a responsible person for our residents, the Shift Leader welcomes new residents into the home, ensuring they and their relatives have a positive and welcoming first day. You will create their initial personalised care plan and undertake daily observations of all residents to identify changes in needs, taking appropriate action where re-assessment is necessary. You will ensure all records are up to date and care plans reflect each resident’s needs on an ongoing basis.
The shift leader role is active in all aspects of medication management, including administration, stock checks, ordering and receipt, and communicates with a wide variety of individuals including multi-disciplinary teams, visitors, residents and families. As a true leader of the care team, you will demonstrate your support by undertaking hands on care duties to ensure resident’s needs are met at a time that suits them.
You must have an NVQ or Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care and aspirations to progress your professional qualifications. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the Health and Social Care sector, along with previous experience managing a small team. You will need to be comfortable using technology and confident in your strong communication skills.
A full induction programme, training and support will be provided to enable you to be successful in your new role and we look forward to welcoming the successful candidate to our team.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this position.
