Careers That Care South West 2026 is a free flagship event taking place at M Shed, Bristol, on 24 September 2026, bringing together the people, professions and partnerships at the heart of children’s services. Under the theme Building Brighter Futures for Every Child, the event celebrates the impact of the sector, reconnects professionals with their purpose, and inspires the future workforce across the South West.

Open to professionals working in children’s social care, education, early help, SEND, fostering, health and support services, the event also welcomes students, newly qualified practitioners and career changers looking for meaningful and rewarding work. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of career pathways, learn about the realities and rewards of the sector, and connect with organisations committed to improving outcomes for children and young people.

The event features inspiring keynote speakers from lived experience, research and regional leadership, including Luke Rodgers BEM, Leanne Morgan, Professor Felicity Thomas and Vikki Jervis. Alongside thought-provoking discussions, attendees can take part in practical career-focused and CPD-aligned sessions covering innovation, resilience and wellbeing, partnership working, and co-production.

A vibrant exhibition and networking space will bring together employers, training providers, universities and sector organisations from across the South West, creating opportunities to share ideas, build connections and discover the many ways people can make a difference in the lives of children and families.
