Support Worker for Hilary
Plymouth
Hilary is looking for a support worker that understands trauma and how this will affect her. Hilary hasn’t had the easiest of lives and this forms how she feels about herself and the world around her including those who support her. When Hilary is feeling scared, she will strike out at those closest to her.
She is looking for someone who can hold the boundaries even when she is pushing against them. Someone who has some skill and knowledge around working with a label of challenging behaviour and someone who has a good level emotional intelligence not to take things personally if Hilary takes against you. You need to be someone resilient, someone who will keep coming back no matter what she says or does. You must be someone who understands that because of Hilary’s life experiences, she needs time to build trust.
She needs someone who is stubborn and will not give up on her. Hilary is a joy to be around, she likes a laugh and a joke and she loves watching all the soaps. She also enjoys watching Plymouth Argyle and she takes pride in her appearance and the way her home looks. If you can make it through the initial tough times, it will be a very rewarding job.
