An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Pelvic Health Specialist Physiotherapist, with a keen interest in bladder and bowel continence, to join the Bladder and Bowel Care Service in North Devon.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist within the community Bladder and Bowel Care team. The role will include delivery of physiotherapy interventions to patients in community clinics, as well as the provision of on-site pre and postnatal services in an acute setting, ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate interventions.
The caseload will include patients with bladder and bowel dysfunctions, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain. The post-holder will be encouraged to develop close links with the multi-disciplinary team in both acute and community settings, including urology, obstetric, gynaecology and colorectal specialists.
Our ideal candidate will be extremely well organised, flexible, approachable and professional and above all compassionate to the needs of both patients and team members within the service, along with excellent communication skills and enthusiasm to promote pelvic health. The post holder’s base will be at South Molton Hospital and you will be required to travel to clinics around the North Devon area, including the district general hospital. You will need the ability to work unsupervised and be responsible for your own caseload of patients and will work both in clinic settings and virtually.
With the use of evidence-based practice you will assess, plan and implement high standards of care to all patients 18 years and older who require physiotherapy for bladder and bowel problems and pelvic floor dysfunctions. Membership to the SWACA and POGP is encouraged.
The successful candidate will receive a comprehensive induction program and will be mentored and guided through both in-house and external training. There will be encouragement to develop specialist clinical skills as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team which includes specialist physiotherapists and nurses.
