Community Support Worker
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated Band 3 Community Support Worker to work within the South and West Devon Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team based at Estover, Plymouth. However, we are due to move to Ivybridge in the very near future.
We are a Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team comprising of Clinical Team Leader, Senior Mental Health Practitioners, Consultant Psychiatrist and a Business Support Administrator. We work with people experiencing severe mental illness who are in acute mental health crisis.
The primary roles and purpose of the team is to provide home treatment, avoiding hospital admission where possible and if admission is indicated, we work with clients throughout this time and endeavour to facilitate early discharge. We are very proud of the service we provide and are committed to providing high quality care to clients and their carers/families.
This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week. Our service currently operates Monday to Friday 0800 – 2100hrs and weekends/ bank holidays 0900 – 1700hrs. However, this is due to change in 2020 to reflect cover 0800 – 2230hrs, 7 days a week.
Salary for this role will be dependent on qualifications and experience working in a care role. The details for this are outlined below.
1. If you already have the Care Certificate or hold a level 3 QCF qualification in care you will be appointed on a Band 3 salary.
2. If you have a minimum of 6 months experience in the last 2 years working in a care role, you can complete the form “Care Certificate Evidence Document” from the additional documentation list to evidence that this experience is equivalent to the 15 standards as set out within the Care Certificate. You will need to take this completed form to interview where it will be reviewed by the appointing manager and if you meet the criteria, you will be appointed on a Band 3 salary.
3. If you have less than 6 months experience working in a care role, you will be appointed as a trainee and paid at a “spot salary” currently £17,652 whilst you complete the Care Certificate. As soon as this is completed your salary will then increase to £18,813.
4. We will also offer entry onto our apprenticeship scheme which is open to applications every 6 months which is offered on an apprenticeship salary. This allows entry onto our career progression pathway.
